Haitian Community Radio Comes to Halifax

CKDU is proud to announce that REFRAKA’s Marie Guyrleine Justin will
be headlining this year’s Women In Radio Conference, as part of the
National Campus and Community Radio Association annual conference
(NCRC).

Justin will speak to conference delegates and the public
about the importance of community radio in her home country, and tell
about the work of REFRAKA.She is the director of REFRAKA, the
Network of Haitian Women Community Radio Animators. Justin will
deliver the keynote address on Thursday, June 9th, from 7-9pm on the
Dalhousie campus. Members of the public are welcome to attend and
hear this inspiring speaker. Translation will be provided on site.

The NCRC will also present another Haitian radio-related event on
Wednesday, June 8th at 7pm. The Carbon Arc Cinema at the Khyber Arts
Centre will screen The Agronomist, the tale of another Haitian
community radio activist, Jean Dominique.
